Oral interpretation, besides being a contest, aims to celebrate one of the most effective tools of all humanity, the voice. When people read novels or poems in silence they engage their own imaginations by entering the minds of the characters. With oral interpretation, the reader becomes the canvas or screen that others watch to see literary art brought to life.
To Be Read Aloud Publishing aims to make this challenge a bit easier. The reader is still the filter of the literature, but the literature is written specifically for oral interpretation. This means that each book of the TBRA series is written to be read aloud, and to meet the time constraints of competition.
